One major advantage of the Cortez, is it's front wheel drive powertrain. The engine, transmission (or transaxle as it is referred to) and all of the front running gear is mouted on a subframe. Usually called a "cradle", this sub frame can be removed from the coach. The first step in removing the cradle is the removal of the front bumper.
Notice in this picture that there are 6 bumper hole brackets (2 in the body and 4 on the cradle) The 4 cradle brackets are used to attach a special hitch to assist in the cradle removal.
